This cake is one of my childhood favorites..i remember this time when i was young going to school and i used to take a peice of this cake with me ans also i used to bring it to my freinds in parties..it made me confused wish to eat first the chocolate or the vanilla part, sometimes i love to keep the chocolate part to the end and most of the time i am inpatient and i start with it..those are really nice memories and make this cake means to me so much more than just a sweet taste:)
here are the ingredients:
- 2 2/3 cups flour
1/3 cup good quality cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk or 1/2 cup of sour cream/yogurt + 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups sugar
The method to do it is very simple:-
- Start by mixing the dry ingredients together: flour,salt,baking powder,baking soda together in a small bowl..(leave the cocoa aside for later)
-Then cream together the butter,oil,sugar together until light and fluffy ,add vanilla extract then start adding the dry ingredients and mix just until combined(don’t overmix).
-on your prepared cake pan loaf or bundt of you choice lay down 2 1/3 of the cake batter .
-Then remaining 1/3 of the cake add to it the cocoa with 2 tablspoons of water until incorporated then put it on top of the white batter
-Then swirl the design of your choice,be your own artist a go ahead and bring it:)) its a really nice feeling..
Now ready for the final step to put it in a preaheated 350 degree F oven for about an hour or hour and 10 mins unil a tooth pic comes out clean.the enjoy the marble heaven..better with a tablspoon of jam and a cup of coffee:))
if you went to the grocery store and you kept seeing these squash not knowing what to do with them,,here is a yummy recipe that is also very healthy:
first start by cutting the squash in half(take care because its very hard) and put it on a baking tray with some water to steam and sprinkle over some salt, pepper and olive oil ..bake for 1 hour in a 350 degree oven and flip halfay for even cooking
when the knife go thru the flesh eaily it means its done
fluff it with a fork and you can see why it is named spaguetti squash
now you can start preparing the sauce by melting 3 tablspoons butter with sage and thyme leasves on a low heat to flavour the butter then raise the heat
when you reach this color you sauce is done
add some fresh basil
stir in the squash and season with salt and pepper to taste
serve into a nice plater or even in the squash cups and decorate with the fried herbs and sprinkle some tasted pinuts0
Coconut macaroons is the american macaroon is totally different from the french macaroon wish is a sandwich delicate usually colored sugary cookie.. This one is made from couple of ingredients..CAN U IMAGINE!!!! the easiest as it can gets and perfect for beginners or as a quick preparation gift and for unexpected parties..its is coconut based and everyone loves it…here are the ingredients and how to make it:
4 cups shredded sweetened coconut
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg white
As simple as mixing all those ingredients together an preparing a baking sheet lined with silicon mat or parchment paper
scoop the cookies with a spoon or ice cream scoop and bake in a preheated 325 degree F oven for 30 mins..Let them cool and for extra special treatment dip them in melted dark chocolate( i don’t recommend milk chocolate as these cookies are really sweet)..
